Macrobrachium rosenbergii, also known as the giant river prawn, giant freshwater prawn, Malaysian prawn, freshwater scampi ( Especially in India ), or cherabin, is a species of freshwater shrimp native to the Indo - Pacific region, northern Australia and Southeast Asia.
