World Kite Festival

Pearl of the Orient

The powerbial melting pot of culture, traditions, heritage and cuisine. Pulau Pinang or Penang known as the ' Pearl of the Orient' to most people, has charmed many tourist, drawing them back year after year. Founded by English captain Francis Light, the beautiful and exotic island formed part of the Straits Settlement together with Melaka and Singapore with the Penang maritime port being one of the busiest in the regions. Its prosperity drew settlers from all over the region resulting in unique heritage of Baba Nyonya, Peranakan, Eurosians and mixed races of Chinesse, Indian, Siamese and Malay, providing for an exciting and amazing holiday destination.

The capital George Town, named ofter King George III of England was formally inscribed as a UNESCO Heritage Site in 2008. A treasure trove of heritage, a lot of effort and money has been invested to preserve the beautiful colonial structure and trades of the early residents.

The Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, otherwise known as the Blue Mansion is a striking structure in the heart of George Town. Described as a 'Grand Mansion conceived and constructed by a Grand Man' the two storey courtyard house built in the hope of housing nine generatios of Cheong Fatt Tze's descendents is now a owner hosted residential home stay.

Perched on the backwaters of George Town, the Weld Quay Chan Jetties are the settlement of Chinese immigrants who arrived on the island more than a hundred years ago. Today, the rickety jetties where the older generation still live are a living heritage of the port's maritime past.

Little India is an enclave that boasts a rich living history spanning two centuries with its characteristically vibrant and thriving places of worship, restaurant and a row of florists, barber, herb dealers, astrologers and millers.

Islands, islands, islands....

Johor can easily claimed to be an islands paradise as there are more than 50 islands sprawling over its water waiting to be explored. Many of the enchanting islands are in the northeastern district of Mersing.

Sea sport like fishing,diving and others water activity and marine life are almost synonymous with islands in Mersing. In fact most of the island have already been declared as sanctuary for the coral reef community as well as the underwater wonders.

A marine park centre was built at Pulau Tinggi, is an information and exhibition centre for the benefit of visitors.

It is useful to note that the Malay word for island is pulau. For practical purposes the islands off Mersing could conveniently be grouped into 3 clusters: northern, southern and eastern clusters. The main islands within each cluster, arranged in order of geographical position are as a follows:

Northern
Pulau Harimau, Pulau Mensirip, Pulau Gual, Pulau Rawa, Pulau Hujung, Pulau Tengah and Pulau Besar.

Southern
Pulau Tinggi, Pulau Apil, Pulau Mentigi, Pulau Sibu Besar, Pulau Sibu, Pulau Tengah, Pulau Sibu Kukus and Pulau Sibu Hujong.

Eastern
Pulau Pemanggil, Pulau Dayang and Pulau Aur.

Melaka, 'The Historic State'.

Having the honour as the country's Historic State, Melaka is small in size but big in culture, heritage and unique fusion cuisines.

Melaka city was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 fir it's legacy as the origin of Malay civilisation and location of the earliest Malay sultanates beginning with founder Parameswara over 600 years ago. After becoming an important international trading port, the city was colonised by yhe Portuguese, Dutch and English over the centuries leading to an abundance of historical attraction and Eoropean heritage.




To immerse yourself in Melaka's colonial history, start your heritage trail at the Dutch Square. Resplendent with their red facades is Christ Church(1753) with hand-made pews dating back 200 years and the Stadthuys(1650) which has been turned into historical museum. The buildings are testament to the Dutch masonry and architectural skills.

Standing between these two buildings are the Melaka Clock Tower(1886) and the Queen Victoria Fountain made from English marble, which was built in 1904 to commemorate Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee. From here visitor can hire one of the brightly decorated trisaw to take you on a leisure ride around the town.

Not far from Dutch Square is the A Famosa, one of the oldest surviving European architectural remains in Asia. The entrance know as Porte de Santiago was part of a mighty fortress built by the Portuguese after their arrival in 1511.

For a spot of shopping head over to Jonker Street, a haven for antique collectors and bargain hunting. Here you can find authentic artefacts and relics dating back 300 years. In the evening, the street is lined with hawker stalls serving local delicacies.

Close to Jonker Street is The Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum, a museum showcasing the Peranakan lifestyle of Chinese nobles who have adopted Malay customs. Guides tour are available by appointment.

Located within the Portuguese Settlement is the Portuguese Square, a replica of a tiny town in Portugal. Here you will find restaurant, food stall, bars and pubs offering Portuguese and local fares. On Saturday evening, you can watch traditional Portuguese dances and performance by the community.

Founded in the 1600s, Cheng Hoon Teng is the finest Chinese temple in Malaysia and was built to serve the religious needs of the early Chinese settlers. The temple remain significant site in Southeast Asia.

Negeri Sembilan, another attraction for Angling Tourism.

Negeri Sembilan is located on the western of Peninsula Malaysia, just south of Kuala Lumpur. Literally meanung 'Land of Nine States'. Home to the small beach town of Port Dickson the state often associated with rhe influences of Minangkabau migrants from Sumatra is full of old world charm. The capital Seremban is easily accessible by road or train and from there you can begin to explore this rather sedate state which has much to offer.

and resort operator  not allowing public to enter their beach.It's open to their guest only.Port Dickson is the nearest places for angler from Kuala Lumpur to fishing other than Klang (Selangor).There are more than 3 public beach for angler to throw away the bait to the sea. Go and explore beaches around Port Dickson.

For those looking relieve some muscle or body ache, the Pedas Hot Springs offers you a chance to take a dip in the hot water from underground springs that are believed to have medicinal values.

Legoland Malaysia


Legoland Malaysia is a new attraction places in Johor Bharu. This theme park is first in Asia, is situated in Nusajaya, Johor. Built on 76 acres of land, the park is the sixth such open park to open in the world.

Over 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions.The main attractions here is the Miniland. More than 30 million lego bricks are used in the building of the monuments including the Petronas Twin Towers, The Merlion Statue, Taj Mahal and many more.

Legoland Water Park which can be enjoyed seperately or in combination with the theme park has more than 20 slides and water based attractions and boasts 70 LEGO models. Highlights of this unique LEGO themed water park are :

Joker Soaker.
A fun interactive play structure in the wade pool where children can aim water cannons at one another. But watch out. The huge bucket will pour 250 gallons upon everyone every few minutes.

Built A Raft.
A unuque concept where children customize their own raft made from LEGO soft bricks before floating down the lazy river.
